I am really enjoying these sketchbook studies. I love experimenting with new styles and not overthinking the outcome. One thing I've told myself throughout this process is to just let the artwork flow. Don't over-analayze the details. It's not worth it. I love committing myself to one year to work with new mediums and themes. If I didn't force myself (and trust me, it's not force) to paint every day, it might have been easy to give up on any of these new collections. I could have easily let any errors deter me from pursuing a new look. This whimsical style I'm creating for the Desert chapter is indeed a new look for me. I am loving the freshness of it, but I can tell I'm a little gun shy about my colors and elements. Again, I keep reminding myself that there's always tomorrow.
